I feel truly blessed that the medium of watercolor "found me" over 25 years ago. It has proved to be a "type and shadow" of teaching and reteaching me many of life's lessons. In those hallowed moments of painting and study, my soul has been touched and taught. I want to acknowledge the source of all my blessings.

  • Foremost, I am grateful to my Heavenly Father, whose love and presence thrills my soul and fills me with peace, hope and the faith to carry on despite disappointments and despair. He is so incredibly patient with me!

  • Secondly, I am grateful to many master teachers along my life's path who have embraced and nurtured my soul with wisdom, training, courage and direction. I hope that I can offer this same gift to others after me.

  • Thirdly, I owe my family and friends(artist and non-art) a debt of gratitude for their generous support, encouragement and patience with me throughout the years. This was not a solo journey!

Watercolor mirrors life in so many ways and has thus inspired my life with greater vision and perspective. There are lessons about control(or the lack of), the law of the harvest, Light vs. darkness, staying open, courage, seeing with new eyes, my own nothingness, patience, endurance, perspective, truth, of His Love and more.

I hope each of us continues to seek for such connections in our lives, and that we find and fill our lives and homes with His Love and things that inspire us to the best that is within us. I would be more than happy to share with you the truths I have found in my life.

Lastly, let me share some of my favorite quotes with you that I hope will inspire you also:
  • "When the Spirit does not work with the hand, there is no art." -Leonardo da Vinci
  • "The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. for it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers." --Scott Peck
  • "We all want the product without the process."
  • "Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. The fact is that most putts don't drop, most beef is tough, most children grow up to be just people, most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration, most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old-time rail journey...delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionallly by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride." --Gordon B. Hinckley, quoting Jenkin Lloyd Jones
